Viewsonic Releases 3 DLP Projectors

Tuesday, February 26, 2008

ViewSonic is on a roll; they are already claiming to be numero uno in projector sales, plus their previous DLP stuff hit the spot in the market. Now they have released 3 new ones – the PJ513D, PJ551D, and PJ560D – all including Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor Technology.

"Extending beyond the desktop, ViewSonic understands that home users, educators and busy professionals require easy-to-use projectors with outstanding image quality that fit within their budget," said Alan Chang, Managing Director of ViewSonic Americas, EMEA & Asia Pacific Regions. "These new feature-rich projectors demonstrate how ViewSonic is leveraging its leadership in desktop displays to deliver a complete portfolio of products with superior visual performance and quality that surpass customer expectations."

The new thing about these projectors, is that they sport a xcontrast ratio spec of 2000:1 - something of the LCD playground, not really DLP. Another feature is ViewMatch technology, which allows users to adjust individual color intensity for screen and printing matching and is able to project the real color performance. Lamp life has been extended to 3500 hours. Brightness is at 2200 lumens.

The PJ513D, PJ551D has a SVGA native resolution(800 x 600) and the PJ551D is 1024x768 XGA native resolution. The units offer three-year limited product warranty and leading industry lamp warranty for one year. The PJ551D costs Rs. 55,000, PJ560D is priced at Rs. 75,000 and the PJ 513D comes at a cost of Rs. 38,000

ViewSonic projector range is currently distributed in here by Redington India.
