Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard for Mac now available

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

Late last year, Logitech offered a way for Windows users to green up (and de-tangle) their desktops with its Wireless Solar Keyboard. In addition to doing away with the troublesome AA or AAA batteries you’d typically find in a wireless keyboard, the Solar also keeps things environmentally friendly thanks to its PVC-free construction and 100% recyclable box. Now, nearly a year later, the company has finally released its OS X-customized cousin: the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for Mac.

Like its Windows cousin, the Mac version can store up enough charge to run for three months in total darkness. Though that’s more than enough juice to keep you going through your unlit, late-night gaming sessions, Logitech also provides the desktop Solar App to let you see just how much light your keyboard’s panels are drinking in. It’ll also chime in when power levels get critically low so that you can give your keyboard a quick, revitalizing solar soak. The app will even teach you how to keep your keyboard’s power reserves at optimum levels.

The K750 for Mac remains every bit as portable as the original at just 1/3″ thick, and it’s available in five color options: black, silver/white and white with green, blue, or pink. Logitech’s crafty Unifying receiver provides the connection to your Mac and provides support for up to 5 additional devices.

The original K750 currently sells for around $60, so you can expect to find the Mac version popping up on retail shelves soon at a similar price.More at Logitech
